6 year old Rachel scalded her legs above her knees with hot water in the bathtub. Her mom called FireBurnDoctor within 15 minutes, but the burns had already developed white blisters and Rachel didn't want anyone to come near them with even a cold washcloth. The pain had been a 7 or 8 (on a scale of 0-10). By the time the FireBurnDoctor team called back, about sixteen minutes later, Rachel was sitting calmly in her mom's lap watching TV. One hour from the time of the burn, Rachel's mom reported that the pain level was down to 2 or 3, and that, "She's doing a lot better. She's talking and eating and playing with a friend. Her friend came over to play". Rachel's mom said she was told about FireBurnDoctor by an EMT friend and said she was very thankful. The next morning, 12 and a half hours from the time of the burn, Rachel's mom called to say, "My daughter is doing fine. She says she feels pretty good. So thank you for all your help!"
